Cottage 9

The Cottage

Number 9 is approached through a gated courtyard. The cottage has an open plan kitchen / dining/ living room with exposed beams, a wood burning stove and a Juliet balcony overlooking the river. The fully fitted kitchen leads through to the separate utility room with access to the lower terrace. The lower terrace is right over the river with a dining area and a companion bench.

The main bedroom on the river side of the cottage has a double bed while the other bedroom has twin single beds. There is a shower room serving both bedrooms.

The cottage has full central heating.

Church Street

Church Street is one of the oldest streets in Llangollen.

Until the 19th Century Church Street was the main road from London to Holyhead. Thomas Telford began his construction of the new A5 in 1815 taking all the traffic away from Church Street.

The Street's name comes from the Church of Saint Collen. The original church was founded by the Saint in the late 16th century. Collen was an Irish warrior and religious figure who lived for a time as a hermit on Glastonbury Tor. The church has been altered and rebuilt over the years, the amazing carved oak ceiling dates from the 15th century.
